• Small appliances - one person must be able to carry the item unassisted

• Pop tabs
• Batteries - no car batteries accepted
• Eye glasses
• Ink cartridges
• Books - good condition only; no magazines, encyclopedias, or textbooks over 5+ years
• Musical instruments

• Glue (bottles and sticks)
• Highlighters
• Notebook paper

FREE DOCUMENT SHREDDING

ITEMS ACCEPTED FOR SHREDDING: Copy paper, note pad paper, folders, staples, paper clips, binder clips.

SHREDDING RESTRICTIONS: No magazines, newspapers, cardboard, 3-ring binders, hazardous waste, wet waste, styrofoam, accordian folders, redwells, boxes, plastics, metal, trash, x-rays, CD's, diskettes, glass.

 

Organizations receiving donations from The Great Donation Day Collection Event: Schools Count, Share Your Soles, Soles for Africa, domestic violence shelters, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Lions Club, & AAUW. Proceeds from recycled ink cartridges will go to CUSD 205 PTAs. Electronics collection provided by Unitec Recycling Corp. Shredding services provided by ShredX. ShredX will give away one (1) Kuerig coffee brewer to one Elmhurst resident and three (3) months of free contract shredding to one Elmhurst commercial customer.

NOTE: The following school locations will accept school supplies from enrolled students and their families only: Bryan, Churchville, Sandburg Middle Schools; Edison, Emerson, Field, Hawthorne, Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln Elementary Schools
